:( that would be a shitty way to go. Having observed it happening to others myself.

I hope you can find happiness in life.

Maybe for you they do, but we don’t know what he’s been though. Personally I’ve been through some really awful shit and when I was in the worst parts of my life I know that a skirt wouldn’t have made me feel better. I’m not going to say what they are because I don’t really want to think about it too much, but I’ll say it was tragic and traumatizing.

I’m not a smoker, I’ve never smoked but I have fantasized about… let’s just say ‘leaving this world’ more than most people, who don’t have PTSD.

I should say I’m not in that place anymore thankfully and my life has gotten much better.

I’m glad for you. I can relate to some of these feelings, and… I can see how a skirt might have been useless to the majority of people, ha.

You should seek help. Even if it’s only for the reason that there are better drugs than nicotine to make one happy.

That would be a long, slow, and painful way to go, and it’s not even guaranteed to get you before you kick the bucket from old age, after all not everyone dies of smoking before dying of something else. It also has plenty of nasty side effects that can affect your life in other ways such as causing you to stink (both from your clothes, but also an odor from your body), or giving you gum disease which can make your gums hurt and also cause you to lose your teeth.

I’m not sure what you’ve gone through but I do hope you can find some happiness in life and not choose to go such a horrible way.

I am not a smoker but once in a blue moon I can convince myself to either go for a cigarillo or a small cigar.

I’l sit outside, which implies this is something I do preferably in the summer months, pour myself a glass of wine, put on some music and just be by myself, existing.

I’ve been mulling about getting a pipe for some years.

I make my best to not bother anyone with my smoke and when buying tobbacco, I buy good, to keep it a ritual of self care and not an addiction.

Working with smokers, I constantly hear them complaining about vapers and vice versa and how tobacco is so expensive.

At an average €4,5 a pack, by the end of the month it adds up to a very round €135. Half of that gets me tobbacco and wine for two years.

I smoke cigars often, tried a pipe a handful of times over the course of a month not too long ago. They’re cool but definitely more work/ritual than a cigar. Personally, it wasn’t for me but I would definitely say to try out a $10 cob pipe and try and get a sample of tobacco! The aroma of the pipe is far better than any other tobacco product and imo it’s a completely different vibe than a cigar

        Thank you for the insight!

I’ve been keeping my eye on a pipe similar to the one used by Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings.

        It’s all about the ritual.

That’s sick af!! Yeah i mean personally if it’s the cost, I would start with the cheap pipe to try it out but i mean I wouldn’t blame you for commiting and going all the way 🤣 i know i did

Funny thing about that particular type of pipe is that the cup is very small and somewhat shallow, so it takes very tobbacco, plus it requires a good degree of dedication to prepare, light and keep.

For two or three pipes a year? Worth it. The ones I’ve seen are less than €30, mostly made from rose root.

The worst thing will be buying good tobbacco.

I don’t mind people that vape too much because the thing’s smell doesn’t get stuck every-fucking-where. Cigars, on the other hand, you can smell from a dozen meters away. Go to a show or party with a lot of smokers and the stench will get on your clothes and especially in your hair. The worst is when you enter a car or room and can immediately tell from the smell that someone smoked there.

    Disclaimer, I vape.

The main argument against smoking cigarettes, IMO, is the smell. Not just that it smells, but it tends to linger. It becomes damn near impossible to get rid of.

Vaping, on the other hand, isn’t nearly as bad for that. After a few minutes, it dissipates and clears out. No lasting issue.

This is all aside from the obvious “smoking is bad” normal rhetoric. The stuff that they put on the cigarette cartons and such. I think we’re all very aware of that.

However, it’s a personal choice. You (and I) have been well educated on the negatives, so if you choose to partake, that’s on you.

Being a reasonable and courteous person, however, maybe don’t do it next to someone’s window, or in their face? As a vaper, I try to step away from where people are to do my thing. I also pay attention to the airflow/wind, to try to stand down wind of people. They get the nice fresh, vape free air, and I can blow clouds and not have them arrive in people’s faces. I know not everyone does that, but they should, honestly.

why i dislike smoking is that it gives lung cancer, and why i dislike vaping is because if youre not careful you can get addicted as shit, the vape fluid can be way more concentrated than a cigarette giving you a terrible addiction.

but if youre careful its not that bad. im not trying to be rude, just hope your good

I am not offended. I agree, it’s very addictive. Vaping can be an incredible tool; it can also lead to something worse. It’s all in how you use it.

I started picking up cigarellos to help manage my stress, and instead of continuing to do that, I made a hard turn to vaping. It’s kept me away from combustible tobacco, and right now I’m doing ok.

        No need to worry, friend.
