Depends on the country. In some it’s legal to throw them back and in some you have to kill them
I also throw fish back in the water after eating them
I don’t remember where I read it, so it might be misinformation, take it with a grain of salt. But less than half of the fishes returned after being catch survive for too long.
From what I remember, it depends on the kind of fish. Some kinds have a very small percentage die while others have almost half thrown back die.
Of course it also depends on how much they’re handled and likely a thousand other factors.
