How the hell does a human and/or calculator find the common divisor??

You see that both numbers end with an even number and divide by 2 … 8 times. 2 is one of the easiest common divisors to find. Along with /10 if both end with 0 or /5 if one ends 5 and the other 5 or 0. In this case it’s a lucky example, usually you don’t find the GCD with just dividing by 2. But you actually only asked about common divisors and you can see 2, 5 and 10 in decimal

I love reducing fractions, because I’m way too lazy to do mental calculations with big numbers. You can reduce in multiple steps.

          774144/4352=387072/2176=193536/1088=96768/544=48384/272=24192/136=12096/68=6048/34=3024/17

          I was even so lazy to first write 3.5 3.5 2 0.5 2 2 / 2 1.5 2.5 1 = 1.5 4 3.5 0 3.5 1 / 1 0.5 3.5 3 … (then wrote it without the space, but then you have to know that .NM has to be replaced with N+M; it was less to type). I only did the last step fully in my head

There’s a very old math algorithm called Euclid’s Algorithm that lets you slowly work your way down to the greatest common factor between two numbers regardless of size. It’s quite simple but requires a lot of subtraction.

Hell I don’t even remember what reducing a fraction is anymore. If I start with 12/10, is the correct answer 6/5 or 1 1/5?

6/5, common notation is ideal for math. Mixed numbers are only useful for recipes in US customary units.

No, no, no you got three fractions there. You have to reduce, get it down to one clean looking one like that 1 1/5. Toss those other two.

It boggles the mind how many people are openly, almost proud, of being bad at math.

They teach third graders how to reduce fractions. An average adult brain should be able to look at a fraction and intuitively figure out how to reduce it. using a calculator, at the very least.

This should be on par with not knowing how to read.

Welcome to femcel memes. A place where anybody can post memes that fit the vibe.

Warning: We have a tendency to post things that may at times come from a self-deprecating perspective or things that are funny coming from another queer person. This space will always be a safe place for transfems, non-binary people, people with a feminine gender expression (GNC or otherwise) or anybody else in the LGBT Community to come together and share about our experiences but we truly feel that laughing about the sometimes silly and embarrassing parts the queer experience can help bring us together. We never mean offense or harm in anything posted but rather they are satirical takes coming from queer people.

A note about ‘Egging’: Our community is mostly made up of transfem individuals, and as such most memes posted will be posted with the intention of having a transfem perspective. However, regardless of gender identity, all feminine presenting individuals are welcome here. Whether that means you’re NB, GNC, transmasc, or any other identity, you are welcome here. It is not our intention or goal to invalidate these identities. If something makes you uncomfortable, please feel free to report the post and I will address your concerns on an individual level. For more information regarding the problems with ‘Egg-culture’, please see Here.
