Is it? Afaik teaching people through fear isn’t as effective as other methods, but if you can show me some research suggesting otherwise I’m open to looking it over and changing my mind

Oh, this isn’t about teaching, it’s about restraining. Nobody who isn’t either a child or a bigot needs to be taught why you shouldn’t go around screaming slurs. The more people that think someone will pop them one if they say wildly bigoted things in public, the better.

If you have any evidence that randomly saying slurs in public somehow leads to a less bigoted society you could share that. But I’m pretty sure it just leads to the acceptance of bigotry.

In what world did I suggest that’s what I want. Are you capable of considering there are other methods to achieve the goal we are both pursuing without encouraging the use of violence over people saying offensive shit?

Yeah if you aren’t capable of having a dialogue I can see why you’d resort to shitting in your own hand.

For someone so fixated on being able to talk someone out of something as highly emotional and linked to social status as bigotry you seem really unable to deal with people who just think that’s not worth pursuing. How have you managed to deal with people who think others are subhuman? Or is this just theoretical on your part with someone else supposed to do all the work?

I talk to people or I walk away if need be or if I’m able. Haven’t always been able, if you’re curious. Have been raped on multiple occasions, obv didn’t talk my way out of it, and cannot imagine the perpetrators considered me equal.

But yeah, in this instance I’m blockin and walkin away. Have a good one

People who’ve never been bullied will never understand this. People who have will never need it explained.

No, I don’t think. I know from a lifetime of experience.

Literally nobody who has survived real bullying will tell you to ignore it or to walk away or to do anything other than do your best to make them understand that the cost of targeting you is too high.

Because there is only one language bullies understand.
