I always try to be like that. Sadly i sometimes catch myself assuming everyone knows something. I hope the fact it is only in games makes it somehow better

It’s why I hated the people on Reddit screaming “repost repost! Wahhhh I saw that last week!”

Ok? It’s my first time seeing it now and I’m glad it was reposted…

Not everyone can know everything, and it’s more than enough to kindly inform someone of their lack of knowledge.

However, if they respond in a hostile manner, and/or refuse to learn, choosing instead not to care.

I mean, fuck em, be rude.

They literally can’t with obstructionist Republicans.

Also that’s a double standard. Because Democrats don’t fix every single thing Republicans fuck up they aren’t much better?

Well, the corporate wing of the DNC was in charge for a long time. That power is fraying, mostly because that part of the party is aging out.

However, they’re still mostly in charge, and being the corporate wing, they’re staunch capitalists, pro-business, and in many ways Republican-Lite in terms of economic policy especially.

There’s surely plenty of good Democrats, they’re totally outweighed by the entire Republican party plus the corporate obstructionist efforts within their own party. It’s literally a fight against a good 60% of governance to get anything done with 50% being Republican obstructionism and 10% being Democrat.

It’s not a huge amount of Democrats, but it doesn’t take that many.

          They never intended to, either.

I would understand your argument if Democrats, when having full power, would make America an equal place for everyone, or at least if their program included full and real equality, including economic one, free healthcare and education, and generous welfare for everyone (or, ideally, socialism).

But they are mostly talking about LGBTQ+ rights (super important, but not the only thing they should care about), a little bit of welfare and forgiving some of the student debt (as opposed to MAKING EDUCATION FREE LIKE IN ANY NORMAL PLACE FFS).

Big difference between “getting obstructed from making things better” and “actively trying to make the world worse.”

but they are the ones obstructing themselves, because the Democratic Party contains a mix of socialists and capitalists; and the capitalists work together with the Republicans to fuck over all of us.

There’s a massive difference between people who can admit they don’t know something and use it as an opportunity to grow, versus people who are proud of their ignorance and refuse to learn.

Joe Rogan is the perfect example of the latter. He really popularized this idea that, as long as you admit you’re an idiot, your terrible and factually wrong beliefs are just as good as reality.

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’

This isn’t a new thing sadly.

Shame and bully the hypocrite who say one thing and do another. Anyone that keeps two sets of rules needs to wear the weight of that choice when their community shamed them, not for who they are, but for how they treat others.

Not sure most people would bother making those amends though. If other people have to fix your fuck up, you probably need a dressing down.

The font selections here demonstrate a healthy opportunity for personal growth and quite possibly the need to make amends.
