Lots of creatures can be a person, doesn’t apply specifically to humans.
However, even if someone or somemany are not people it does not automatically mean they do not deserve kindness.
On the flipside, not all humans deserve kindness. The only things that every human deserves is life and dignity. The rest depends on how kind (or unkind) they are to others.
I’d at least say every human deserves kindness until proven otherwise. That is certainly a loseable thing tho
