Hans Zimmer taking over a shittier reboot of a franchise that John Williams helped make great in the first place is such a perfect metaphor for the film music industry as a whole.
Zimmer himself isn’t too bad, but his style of electronic-first, vibes-based rather than theme-based scoring is the single greatest contributor to scores today being so much worse than they were back in Williams’ heyday.
