Omg I remember those from when I was younger! They don’t have the here in the USA—Smarties here are like chalky little pills. Don’t get me wrong: they’re delicious, but the chocolate ones are good too.
Like the chocolate wrapped in a hard shell, like M&Ms but worse. The ones in the post. Are both rockets and Smarties called Smarties? This discussion is getting exponentially confusing 😅
oh! I get it now. I don’t think Americans have an equivalent to Canadian Smarties beyond just m&ms, but also i agree, m&ms are better, esp the mini ones.
You are not losing on much anymore. They changed recipe a few years back and since then I don’t buy them. I used to eat them a LOT and my friends have said the same. I could recognize the new from the old ones based on their packaging and the about to be expired old ones still tasted better.

American smarties = Rockets in Canada
Rockets is honestly such a better name.
Wait but what do Americans call Smarties then?
those are smarties in America, sorry I’m not sure I understand your question

Yeah Smarties chocolate uses crap tier chocolate.
I didn’t know they didn’t have Smarties chocolate, interesting! I guess the Smarties -> Rockets rename in Canada makes sense now.
We don’t have chocalte Smarties :/
I’m fairly certain that M&Ms in the USA use worse chocolate than European Smarties.
I’m in Canada, but yeah our M&Ms are pretty good.
They look like UK “Fizzers” made by “Swizzels” (both real words).
I wonder if they taste the same?
It’s made out of the same stuff as “Love Hearts”, if they exist outside the UK.
these are a bit more tangy than love hearts I’d say

It’s best to avoid anything from Nestle either way
