With how far USians apparently have to drive to buy shit, I’d assume shopping lists were common sense. I have a 10 minute walk and I’m too lazy to go more than once a week.
We have 2 grocery stores in walking distance, not great ones but one has a liquor store and also sells 10 limes for $1 so I do go there sometimes.
The one we do weekly, is about 4 miles I think? So an easy 20-30 minutes on the electric bike (if my husband can’t go I take the bike) or a quick drive. Better store though.
I have a store within 10 minutes walking distance, and two more within 20, because my city was not planned by idiots. I go quite often, because why hoard specific ingredients for a meal I want to make? Except of course some emergency stock and “the usual” nonperishable stuff. Besides, my backpack only holds a limited amount of stuff.
A lot of people have them delivered now, but yes the grocery run is a weekly affair. Even with a list though, you wind up realizing you forgot to buy X and you can make dinner without it but it just won’t be as good and it’ll feel like a waste of your roast or whatever.
My friend goes several times a week because it’s like 10 min walk. If I lived that close I wouldn’t, and I know this because I lived with them for a while, but it is a good way to burn off dinner before you eat it, I guess.
I go every day but that’s because it’s a 1.5 minute drive and I’m already doing the kindergarten pickup so I’m not starting the car just to go to the shop usually.
I COULD walk to the shop and it would be like 15 min each way, but I’d still need to drive to kindy so there’s little point in doing that currently
I hate shopping lists. If I have to plan for multiple days, I’m forgetting something off the list.

(I’m assuming USian because “store”)

I’m incapable of planning a weekly menu because my SO has ASD and the whole menu could end up not sounding good.
