Language has always evolved. Kind of annoying to crap on the next generation for doing the same things ours did. Gives off superiority vibes or old men shouting at clouds.

Not how I read it. I think they’re saying (joking) that it’s not a mid ocean (average) they’re saying it’s a 9/10 one. Then joking that social media has fried peoples brains if they think that’s a mid (average) ocean. Hinting that people see so much stuff online they can’t appreciate beauty no more.
Yeah, that’s why the hall in my house is 20 feet across and my ambidextrous president is taking bribes from anyone who wants to give him one, and the easter bunny is a giant squirrel.
