I’m still waiting for some cutie to show me how to make pancakes. Also, on a totally unrelated note, I’ve redownloaded Veloren and found the password to my old account 👉👈

The source is A Yuri Story About How My Classmate Whose Only Good Trait is Her Excessively Pretty Face Comes at Me Relentlessly btw.

The quality and value of pancake mix really varies between countries. I’ve found that Japan, for instance, has really good pancake mix that is cheaper than buying the raw ingredients… Flour is rarely bought for home cooking, and there’s a generally high standard for store bought baked goods. In contrast, Australia has cheap flour and store bought baked goods are generally mediocre at best.

I am not a cutie but buying pancake mix is a scam. I am also not from the US but we make lovely thin pancakes here in Scandinavia.

    3dl flour

    6dl milk

    3 eggs

    A pinch of salt

Mix half of the milk and all of the flour together until there are no clumps left. Pour in the rest of the milk, eggs and salt and mix it.

Heat up a pan, use butter in the pan between every pancake, the more the better taste but maybe your heart will go out. Anyway… Pour in some of the mix in the pan, do NOT fill it up but instead use a spoon or something to spread it out to make them really thin, like a millimeter thin. When the underside starts to get color, flip it. Enjoy with berry jam.

i really don’t understand why pancake mix pancakes taste so much worse. surely they can just put the same stuff in them that you put in homemade pancakes and then they would be fine…

still waiting for some cutie to show me how to make pancakes

    t-poses at your doorstep

    Spoiler

    Ingredients:

    Dry:

    • 320 g all-purpose or cake flour
    • 20 g malted grains
    • 40-80 g sugar or honey
    • 1-1.5 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp nutmeg
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 1.5 tsp baking soda
    • 1.5 tsp baking powder

    Wet:

    • 40-120 g oil or melted butter
      • add more if you want them to be flatter and softer
    • 2 eggs
    • 2.5 cups kefir or buttermilk
    • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

    Directions:

    1. In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda and whisk to combine.
    2. In a medium bowl, add the buttermilk, melted butter, vanilla and eggs and whisk to combine.
    3. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and fold very gently with a rubber spatula or a whisk until just combined. Be sure not to overmix. Some lumps are okay.
    4. Let the batter rest for 15-30 minutes at room temperature.

    1. Add some oil or butter to a cast iron skillet and heat over medium high heat. Once the butter has melted and is bubbling slightly, reduce the heat to medium and add about 1/3 cup of batter to the pan.
    2. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until bubbles start to appear on the surface. Flip the pancake over and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until golden brown on both sides and showing no liquid. Repeat with the remaining batter.
    3. Serve the pancakes in a stack with some butter in between.

Hmmm? From scratch you say? Did you grow these eggs on an egg tree yourself hmm? Did you personally hurt down every single ear of wheat and crushed them into flour hmmm?

You can piece together premade kits, you can modify existing things, or you could build things from the ground up. But you’re never really getting to the base level of creation. You’re not making your own bolts. And even if you are, you didn’t smelt the steel. And even if you did, you didn’t create the iron from nuclear fusion inside the core of a star. Unless you did, in which case hit me up, we should be friends.

i use apple sauce as egg substitute (it works great for these kinds of pancakes)

and yes, ofc i planted the tree myself and waited for the first apples to grow before making my pancakes :3
