        Because it causes you to think differently - i couldn’t care less about the corpos. It makes verbal dissent something to be ashamed of, and there’s nothing to be ashamed of here outside of not having an additional nickname to throw on the pile.

              I’m not trying to be annoying - but i also want to make it clear that self-censoring (or censoring of OOP by whoever took the screenshot in this case) is a really bad thing to take hold in society. Sure, i could just let it stand and ignore it. But the amount of pressure towards censoring speech that the big social media platforms police is something out of fucking 1984.

              The amount of things i can accomplish in my surroundings is vanishingly small, but at least i can open my mouth when i see something like that to make sure others realize that this is not ok.

                Miisha didn’t censor the meme herself. She just didn’t edit it back. You could have edited it back in and shared instead of wagging your finger at her.

              The purpose of NSFW tags on here is to accommodate users, not appealing to advertisers or conservatism. Some people just don’t want to see NSFW content, either because it’s triggering, or because they aren’t into it, or because they’re genuinely worried about getting in trouble at work while chatting with gay nerds. By making sure NSFW is properly tagged, users who want to avoid it can avoid it, while users who like it can see it just fine. It gives everyone more choice, and ends up being more free than sectioning off all horny stuff to it’s own corner.

              I removed your comment because you deliberately revealed something that somebody else deemed worthy of NSFW tagging. It undid efforts to give people that choice, while also disrespecting Miisha’s discretion on how she presents herself. That last part is probably why she perceived your comment as trolling rather than having fun.

              Not to dismiss your statement…but taking my obviously NSFW result (behind a spoiler that literally says NSFW), changing it to SFW and commenting it in plaintext, no spoiler, doesn’t seem like trolling to you?
              Genuine question, I’m interested what the thought process was.

              Also your account has many mod logs that are for “trolling” reasons including ones saying “Lemmy-wide troll”, which further confirms my suspicions.
