I get ignored as an adult too.

I’ve just stopped talking when I realize nobody is listening, and it’s really disappointing how little anyone around me even notices the noise stopped.

At least the people I hang out with nowadays mostly have adhd in varying degrees, so it’s more understandable than when it was my family.

Yeah, I’ve started noticing that happening to me too… people will just interrupt and the conversation goes on without me, even if I’m still talking. It hurts my feelings and makes me wonder why I bothered sharing in the first place

As far as I know, the ace community plans to invade Denmark (≈6 million population), not the Netherlands (≈18 million population, three times as big).

According to a very shallow search online, about 1% of the population is autistic, with a similar percentage being proposed for asexual people.

Now using that 1% figure, both groups should have about 83 million people in the world, enough to invade both Denmark and the Netherlands.

Restricting to only people who already live in Europe (total population 601 millions), 1% would be ≈6 millions, which is comparable to the size of Denmark.

So I suppose the original plan to invade Denmark was made by European asexuals, and European autistics could do similarly.

Anyways, I think the autistics have a lower chance of success, because of the ADHD (a good percentage of the autistics is also adhd), and the executive dysfunction.

Please notice that I just woke up, I spent literally 5 minutes doing this research, so my numbers could be very wrong. Please don’t bully me in the replies if the numbers are wrong.

Edit: I know remember that I was originally talking about uniting autistic trans girls… I think it’s much more difficult to find that percentage… But I feel like if you consider the whole world we should be enough, if you restrict to only Europe, we are not. But maybe US + Canada + Europe…

This is an incredible amount of depth. I commend thee.

We would probably need all of the autistic trans women around the world. Also the autistic trans men can join in too :3

This is an incredible amount of depth. I commend thee.

Not at all, it’s all just napkin math. My main concern is the quality of the sources for those percentages. For a really in-depth analysis I would have to verify the solidity of those sources, and especially see how those percentages were calculated, to determine if we are underrepresenting.

I feel like it’s really difficult to get a percentage of autistic people, considering that many autistic have difficulty even getting a diagnosis. I think we are underrepresenting the autistic population.

For the case of trans people the issue is even bigger: considering the social and safety consequences of coming out as trans, I believe there could be a lot of trans people not included in those statistics.

That’s why I said my research was shallow, because I don’t have any insight on the quality of the data I used.

Also the autistic trans men can join in too :3

Let’s not assume the Law of excluded middle! We need to include all the non binary people as well ❤️

By the way, you can notice that I applied the percentages to the whole of the population, thus not distinguishing by gender. So at least my numbers should include trans people of all genders.

We would probably need all of the autistic trans women around the world.

And for as much as I’d love to have a trans safe country for all the trans people in the world, I’d really hate to do it the Israel way: that to get a safe place for themselves, they made it impossible to have a safe place for those who inhabited that same land before them.

Bottom line: let’s not invade any country…

but why denmark though? it’s up high north and probably cold. i wanna go somewhere warmer climate.

(maybe we just draw a straight line south of denmark and settle at that location or sth? so everyone gets their preferred latitude)

              somewhere warmer climate.

have you not read the news? Denmark will have the optimal climate in a few tens of years. We’re basically pre-ordering.

I found a group of autistic trans people with ahdh and oh my god is it bad.

Sometimes we will be mid conversation and someone who was hyperfocusing on something on their phone will completely halt the conversation to interject without even realizing other people were talking.

I do it too, so it’s not like I’m complaining about it lol. It’s also great when you realize that in a conversation with 6 people, any single thing any of us says could send any one of us off on 3 tangents. Rabbit trails on rabbit trails.

Doesn’t help much the fact I am extremely frail of health and I used to go to hospitals way more often as a kid so my social circle was mostly of my relatives.
