      That is how you need to hold an old cowboy-era style single action revolver with a loading gate like the Colt SAA 1873 to reload it.

      Except that apparently they couldn’t find the right prop for the picture because this is a modern double action revolver. They usually are reloaded by swinging the cylinder to the side and you wouldn’t be holding it like that for that.
